I am Kuba was awarded ‘Ildfluen’ (The Firefly Prize) at this years Norwegian Documentary film Festival. The prize is awarded to the best short/mid-length documentary films.

It’s a honour for us to see the topic of euro-orphans receive the attention it deserves. This award will help lift the film and the subject area even more so we can share the story of Kuba and thousands more europeans with with a wider audience.  It’s an deeply appreciated award.

The jury went on to describe I am Kuba as “giving an insight into a huge and relevant – and for most of us unfamiliar topic. The story is told through the close, emotional interactions. The filmmakers style is generally observational, and dare trust the pictures. We experience a unique access to the characters that grabs us and sets the tone. The imagery is beautiful and thoughtful.”
